Ingredients

base ~

1cup Butter, softened
½cup Sugar
1tsp Vanilla paste
420g Flour

filling ~

¼ cup Butter, softened
2Tbsp Golden syrup
1x400g can Condensed milk
½ cup Chocolate drops

Method

base ~

Line a baking tray with non-stick paper, cutting in at the corners
In a mixing bowl, cream the butter, sugar and vanilla until light
Fold in the flour and spread two thirds of the mixture into the tray and flatten
Pop the rest of the mixture into the fridge whilst you make the caramel

filling ~

Preheat oven to 175ºC.
In a saucepan over a gentle heat, stir the butter, golden syrup and condensed milk until caramel is thick and butter has melted. Pour over the set base
Combine the chocolate drops with the reserved base and crumble over the surface
Bake for 20 - 25 minutes
